According to authorities, the cyclonic storm Mocha that was a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal over night developed and is now expected to make landfall between Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, and Sittwe, Myanmar.
According to them, the Andaman island chain will certainly get significant rainfall from the cyclone, which Yemen has called Mocha and is pronouced “Mokha.”
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the cyclonic storm was around 510 km southwest of Port Blair at 8.30 am.
By evening, the storm is predicted to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm.
The IMD predicted that it will reach its maximum intensity on May 13 in the evening.
It is expected to gradually diminish starting on May 14 morning and move between Cox's Bazar and Kyaukpyu with a maximum sustained wind speed of 120-130 kmph, gusting to 145 kmph, according to the IMD.
