Shreyanka, an off-spin all-rounder, took five wickets in three games during her T20I debut earlier this month against England. In the same series, left-arm spinner Saika claimed five wickets as well. In the last game, he excelled with a crucial spell of 3-22.

The ODI team also includes Titas and Mannat, who competed for India in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup earlier this year. As a member of the squad that won the gold medal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, Titas claimed four wickets in as many games as Mannat, a left-arm spinner who has not yet made her debut for her country.

Renuka Singh Thakur, the pace spearhead, is back in the ODI lineup along with wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, who made his Test debut against Australia, which India won by eight wickets. Thakur made a successful return to international cricket in the series against England following a stress fracture injury.

The ODI squad did not include experienced left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad, leg-spin all-rounder Devika Vaidya, wicketkeeper-batter Uma Chetry, batter Priya Punia, pacers Meghna Singh and Monica Patel, or spinners Anusha Bareddy and Rashi Kanojiya because Shreyanka, Saika, Mannat, Titas, Renuka, and Richa were included.

The Neetu David-led selection committee has shown consistency in selecting the T20I team by keeping the same group of players that faced England.

Beginning on December 28, the three-match ODI series will take place at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The next two games are scheduled on January 02, 2024, and December 30, 2024, respectively.

After then, the three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) will be held in Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on January 5, 7, and 9, respectively.

ODI Squad: Amanjot Kaur, Shreyanka Patil, Mannat Kashyap, Saika Ishaque, Renuka Singh Thakur, Titas Sadhu, Pooja Vastrakar, Sneh Rana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Richa Ghosh (wk), Amanjot Kaur, Shreyanka Patil, Mannat Kashyap, Saika Ishaque, Renuka Singh Thakur, Titas Sadhu, Pooja Vastrakar, Sneh Rana, and Harleen Deol

T20I Squad: Amanjot Kaur, Shreyanka Patil, Mannat Kashyap, Saika Ishaque, Renuka Singh Thakur, Titas Sadhu, Pooja Vastrakar, Kanika Ahuja, Minnu Mani, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Richa Ghosh (wk), Amanjot Kaur, Shreyanka Patil, Mannat Kashyap, Saika Ishaque, Renuka Singh Thakur, and Minnu Mani.
